Initial Shotlist

Below is our pitch for our main task, we debated a few ideas, this included the story, the characters and the location. We decided on the following plot as it influenced ideas that we all contributed.

• Establishing shots of London (with credits).
• Extreme long shot of protagonist in London.
• Close up of him, hears the scream and stops walking.
• Cuts to long shot and protagonist looking around for source of the scream, no one else reacts to it.
• Close up as he considers what actions to take
• Cut to long shot as he turns and starts running.
• Tracking shot, following him down a road; he turns round a corner (insert noise here) but when camera turns round, he isn’t there.
• Cuts to alley where a man is standing over a woman who is breathing heavily.
• Close up (low angle) of his face as he smiles sinisterly and asks her “I’m not gonna ask you again, either give me your bag or I’ll hurt you.” She refuses, he swings back and as he does, his hand is grabbed by someone behind him. He turns round and the protagonist hits him in the face. He falls to the ground.
• Mid shot of woman standing up (noise as she stands up) and saying “thank you” she then looks around and the camera cuts to a long shot of her in the alleyway and he’s not there.

Possible Filming Locations

We discussed various locations for where to film our main task. We wanted to contrast the more classy areas of London with the grimy ones, to differentiate the character from his surroundings, but juxtapose him with the run down building where we first see him.
